A fantastic weekend at Brands Hatch! In easily the best weekend of the season so far Team RSR notched up 2 wins (JC and NG), a pole position (TF), two second places (TF), a third place (AM) and a fastest lap (TF). Tony Freeman was in top form, no doubt refreshed from his trip to the Monaco Grand Prix, while Adrian Mardlin had his highest finish yet and his first podium. Jonathan Coleman and Nigel Greensall won both Enduro rounds outright. In the first race Jonathan pitted during the first safety car period to hand the car to Nigel. Starting from pole in Race 2, Jonathan led the race for the first 16 laps. "We've had very bad luck in previous races, but the pace of Nigel and Jonathan has never been in doubt. Jono did a fantastic job this weekend, and the strength of the pairing goes from strength to strength." said Team Owner Ian Woodcock. Well actually we just made that up...what he really said was "All revved up ready, ten tenths", but the thought was there! RSR welcomed a new driver to the team at Brands - Malcolm Johnson qualified his SR3 in 12th place and finished P7, the second SR3 home. We look forward to working with Malcolm in the coming races. Amongst all the good results of the weekend Laurence and Bob in the Magic SR3 didn't have such a great weekend. New tyres seemed to hamper qualifying in the hot conditions, and Race 1 ended prematurely with a stone through the radiator. The duo raced to 11th place in Race 2. |
